Availability
All civil decisions from 1 January 2010 are available online, with the exception of those cases in which the Judge has made a specific suppression order.
No criminal decisions are available online, due to the risk of publication impacting on an upcoming trial.
Perth civil decisions prior to 31 December 2009 are available online (unless the decision has been suppressed).
Legal practitioners can obtain access to all unreported District Court decisions by subscribing to the PLEAS database through the Supreme Court Library.
Policy
Materials on this website, including civil judgments are provided by the District Court of Western Australia as a public service.
Civil judgments are edited to ensure that they comply with any suppression orders and also legislative restrictions regarding publications.
In addition, civil judgments may be edited where publication may have an adverse impact on victims, witnesses or other persons connected with the proceedings.
